HelioPeak Weather for Apple TV · Last updated: 26 September 2026
In short: HelioPeak Weather has no accounts and no tracking. The locations you choose are sent to Apple Weather to fetch the forecast. Anonymous usage statistics and crash reports are processed in the European Union and can never be linked to you.
1. Who we are
HelioPeak Weather is published by SVDT-Consultancy bv, Belgium ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what the app does with data and what it does not do. Contact: info@heliopeak.app.
2. Data we do not collect
- No account, no registration, no e-mail address, no name.
- No advertising, no advertising identifiers, no tracking across apps or websites.
- No precise or continuous location. The app never runs in the background.
- No sale or sharing of personal data with third parties for their own purposes.
3. Data stored on your Apple TV
Your favourite locations, units, language and dashboard settings, the last downloaded forecast and the image shown on the Top Shelf are stored locally on the device only. Deleting the app removes them.
4. Location
When you set up the app it may ask permission to use your Apple TV's approximate location once, to propose a nearby city. Apple TV has no GPS; this approximate position is derived by Apple from your network connection and is used solely to pre-fill a suggestion, which you confirm or replace by searching. You can decline; the app then works with locations you search for. Searching for places uses Apple's MapKit services.
5. Weather data (Apple Weather / WeatherKit)
Forecasts, current conditions, weather warnings and (where available) next-hour precipitation are provided by Apple Weather through Apple's WeatherKit service. To fetch a forecast the app sends the coordinates of your chosen locations to Apple. Apple's handling of this request is described in Apple's privacy policy. Weather data provided by Apple Weather; see the data sources and attribution.
6. Anonymous usage statistics (TelemetryDeck)
To understand which features are used and in which languages, the app sends anonymous usage signals (for example “app launched”, “subscription purchased”, and a daily total of how many minutes each screen was open) to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-first analytics service based in Germany and hosted in the European Union.
Alongside every signal, TelemetryDeck’s own software attaches the technical context of the device: the Apple TV model and tvOS version, the app version, the language and region the television is set to, its time-zone offset, the local date and hour, the date the app was first opened, how many days and how many sessions it has been used, how long the previous session lasted, and which accessibility settings are switched on. That is the standard context the analytics service collects; the app adds nothing to it.
None of it identifies you. There is no name, no e-mail address, no account, no advertising identifier, no precise location and no stored IP address. Place is known no more precisely than a country and a time-zone offset, an offset shared by dozens of countries. The device identifier is hashed on the device before it is sent, and hashed again by TelemetryDeck, so signals can be counted per installation but not traced to a person and not followed across apps. See TelemetryDeck's privacy policy.
7. Crash reporting (Sentry)
If the app crashes or freezes, a technical report (stack trace, tvOS version, device model, app version) is sent to Sentry, hosted in the European Union (Frankfurt). Reports contain no personal data, no location and no screenshots. See Sentry's privacy policy.
8. Subscriptions
HelioPeak Weather Plus is an optional auto-renewable subscription sold through the App Store. Payment, billing details, renewals and refunds are handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment information. The app only receives a signed receipt from Apple confirming that a subscription is active. Manage or cancel it on your Apple TV under Settings → Users and Accounts → Subscriptions.
9. Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any personal data from anyone, including children.
10. Data security
All connections from the app to Apple, TelemetryDeck and Sentry use HTTPS. Because we hold no personal data, there is nothing for us to lose or leak.
11. Your rights (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to access, rectify, erase and restrict the processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Belgium: the Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données). Since the app does not process personal data that can be linked to you, there is normally nothing to access or delete; you can nevertheless write to info@heliopeak.app with any question.
12. Your rights (United States / CCPA)
We do not sell personal information and do not collect personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app changes. The date at the top shows the current version; material changes are announced on this page.
